Congratulations to all involved in Growing Talent!

29/07/2015

PwC I&P’s Growing Talent programme has been shortlisted for an award from Personnel Today in their Innovation in Recruitment category.  Winners will be announced in November.

We’re up against stiff competition from:

Association of Colleges Create
Coventry City Council
oneSource
Shell International
Tesco
Unilever
Virgin Money

Considering how far Growing Talent has grown (couldn’t resist that!) since the early days of February 2014.  We now have a vibrant website, twitter and linkedin accounts, manuals for the Orientation and Holistic weeks, increased workshops covering an Art Class and understanding Waste Management.  In addition we have deeper commitment from JobCentre Plus who not only cover travel for the duration but also for the first month of employed status until the first salary is in.

Apart from the fantastic Growing Talent Associates, a big thank you goes to JobCentre Plus – London & Home Counties district who have used countless flexibilities to support people and of course the employers involved along the way:   Aramark, Baxter Storey, Harrow Green, Honeywell, Iron Mountain, MHFAEngland, Mitie Total Document Management, Network Compucare, Pertemps, Portico, Invest in Buy to Let, Red Personnel, Sheridan Maine, SSR Personnel and UpTownOil.

Whatever the outcome of the November announcement, I personally feel everyone involved is an absolute winner.  The power of working together is shown in the 40 people who have secured their permanent jobs and the eight currently on the programme.

As Comfort from the pilot programme summed up Growing Talent ‘Growing in more ways than one’ – I couldn’t put it better!

Well done everyone!  Hopefully it will be fireworks in November – not just for Guy Fawkes night!
