Do you follow the loudest voice?

12/09/2025

I’ve long been a fan of James Clear author of Atomic Habits. There is always a gem or two in his 3-2-1 newsletters:

3 ideas
2 quotes
1 question to consider

With all the noise on social media at the moment and the awful things going on across the world, I’ve been surprised by some posts I’ve seen recently and more so by the authors – where I know their posts are a world away from their real beliefs!

James’s 2nd idea this week really struck a cord:

“People often care more about belonging than they care about accuracy. We don’t always believe things because the are factually correct. In many cases we cling to beliefs that make us look good to people we care about”.

I see a lot of people in the workplace following the loudest voice – without considering all views, known facts to form their own opinion.

The quietest voice can have the most innovative idea. Don’t silence it. Listen to it – you don’t have to agree with it.
