The countdown is on to the Growing Talent website being removed at the end of August following the closure of the programme.
This week, I take a look back at the journey over the past 12 years in film.
The films are of their age and talk about the Growing Talent programme as it was then – not how it evolved to its end point.
But what startled me on playing the films is the issues the participants talk about remain relevant today.

Today I revisited Michael Buerk’s investigative film on Growing Talent – does it really deliver?
Michael is a well-respected investigative journalist who, amongst other things, broke the famine in Ethiopia which inspired the Band Aid campaign Christmas 1984.
