Paul joined Talent Hub after not progressing past the selection stage of Growing Talent.

Yesterday marked the final Talent Hub 1:1 action-planning session with Paul.

In a former life, Paul was a taxi driver.

After finding himself out of work, he made the bold decision to retrain—spending the past four years studying for a degree that’s equipped him with core digital skills spanning cyber security, website design, AI, programming, and more.

His academic journey concludes in 2026 with his final exams, and with his determination, focus and drive, I’ve no doubt he’ll soon be supporting businesses to embrace the digital world—enhancing their teams, customers and productivity.

What Paul’s story shows is something I see in every Growing Talent and Talent Hub programme: there is a huge amount of hidden talent within our unemployed communities.
