Holistic Week Review – GT23
23/09/2019

What a week it was at Etc Venues, Eastcheap in London.
Monday and Tuesday were full on days which left everyone mentally exhausted – so much information and brain power needed! These two days qualify participants as Mental Health First Aiders. An essential skillset in the workplace as well as at home. Often we don’t know how to help when someone is mentally unwell. This global course gives those skills to help ourselves and others.
Joining us on these two days was Jacqui – one of the managers from PwC.
It’s an intense course and exhausting. So what did the guys think of this?
“It was great to learn. It helped me identify some symptoms I have, so I need to do first aid on myself. I will action this now”
“It was worth doing the MHFA course. I learned a lot about different mental health problems’.
The rest of the week comprised art, personal finance, fitness, nutrition and wellbeing.
On Finance the guys thought:
“learned a few ways to better manage my personal money”
“I learned how to change my mindset from a consumer to an investor/saver. Personal finance is so important and not taught anywhere”
Nutrition – delivered by Kate of HB Nutritionists
‘The healthy pot noodle was really practical for me as I’m always rushing”
“I picked-up so many things and tips I didn’t know as well as busting some myths I thought were true.’
Art Gallery visit to the National Gallery, Trafalgar Square:
‘An eye opener for sure. Never been to an art gallery before so it was a great new experience.’
“I loved this opportunity to go somewhere I wouldn’t normally.”
Art Class itself:
‘Loved it – my forte!’
‘Uninterested at first but had fun learning how to draw cartoons’
So overall – a good week!
