Hybrid Growing Talent
16/06/2021
Covid and the resulting restrictions saw the need for diverse ways of working for many organisations. With the halt to ‘business as usual’ we’ve all had to adapt to some extent.
A short hybrid of Growing Talent was devised to suit a particular employer’s needs. Using virtual tools for selection and delivering a bespoke menu of orientation and holistic elements to build self confidence, resilience and bespoke workplace psychosocial identification and management in line with the new ISO45003 guidelines.
On Growing Talent we dropped the traditional MHFAEngland unaccredited and reactive course in favour of I-act’s Managing and Promoting Positive Mental Health and Wellbeing which is accredited by the Royal College of Psychiatrists and carries CPD points. This proactive course delivers over 50 self-care tools to support personal and others wellbeing.
Two of the eight positions have been filled already. I’m looking forward to seeing how this new initiative develops over the coming weeks.
Sometimes overthinking and procrastination may stop us trying new ways of doing things. Sometimes we need to follow Nike’s strapeline and ‘Just Do It’.
Trying this new method has seen two people get jobs they wouldn’t have got otherwise.
Once this project is complete, we will be clearer on whether or not this new way of working will remain a permanent addition to the traditional Growing Talent.
Change doesn’t have to be feared. Embrace it. It can turn out to be the best action possible….
