Mr Fix It!
How happy does Delroy look?
A naturally positive person, on joining Growing Talent 17 he hadn’t worked in a while and was keen to secure something his ‘hands on’ skills would be useful in.
As you can see from the feature photo – he’s secured his goal!
Selected by Paul Felgate, General Manager at Ballymore – seen above with Delroy – for a provisional role in his residential maintenance team at Ballymore’s prestigious Embassy Gardens estate, Delroy has fitted in really well.
Paul explained he usually only recruits people with qualifications and experience in the corporate environment but Delroy has impressed him so much on Growing Talent, he’s happy to recruit through us again!
During my visit, Delroy explained every day was different. When I walked into the building, I almost bumped into Delroy – literally – carrying a broken marble wall light to fix. Every day he had a list of routine maintenance tasks but also found additional things himself – such as the marble lamp!
You can see Delroy in his office above complete with his fish tank! Very relaxing for those rare ‘downtime’ moments.
I found the location really difficult to find. I even asked the armed police by the American Embassy for directions. Which turned out not to be as helpful as you’d think but then it is a newly developed area – it’s hard to keep track where everything is!
Delroy on the other hand has it nailed. A 45 minute journey from his house to Ballymore is the cherry on the top.
In his own words ‘I’m very happy. Growing Talent does what it says on the tin’.
