Fit for Purpose!
22/10/2021
Up to now, the global Mental Health First Aider course has been delivered to everyone selected by an employer during the holistic section.
Whilst MHFA is a global programme it isn’t fit for the purpose of proactive knowledge to build wellbeing and resilience in the workplace for all.
MHFA has always been a reactive product – a good resource once someone has become unwell.
‘Prevention is better than cure’ is true in many areas – it’s especially so in wellbeing.
Ensuring people have the tools to look after themselves and others before becoming unwell delivers a quicker recovery.
With this in mind, the Global, proactive, workplace designed I-act Managing and Promoting Positive Mental Health and Wellbeing will be delivered going forward.
This enlightened, robust tool has a strong track record and can be delivered virtually or in person.
Everyone completing this will have accreditation by the Royal College of Psychiatrists, 3 CPD points and over 50 tools to use looking after themselves and those around them.
Apart from the accredited certificate they get an electronic badge to use on their social media and email signature along with three years access to I-act’s website and resources.
It’s already been used for a virtual Growing Talent in the summer and was very well received!

It’s important for all of us to make sure the choices we make are ‘fit for purpose’!
