“Is it for me”?

A great phone call with Mia who stumbled across the Growing Talent website this morning. “Is it for her…?” she called to find out.

Huge amount of corporate experience with a creative DNA and passion for books, she last worked in one of the ‘Big Four’ financial services companies before being made redundant.

She got chatting to a security guard in Hatchard’s Book Shop – which combined two of Mia’s passions – books and helping people. Security isn’t just about shop floor walking. There’s a huge behavioural science part too.

‘Could she be a security guard in a bookshop?’ Mia wondered. I don’t doubt she could be. Open minded to opportunities and willing to learn – our ideal applicant!

Mia’s next question was does she have to be registered with JobCentre Plus to take part? Absolutely not – so long as she is financially able to pay her own fares.

She is now going to spread the Growing Talent opportunity amongst her friends.
